The number of mental health organizations and beds has been in nearly a steady decline from the 90s, when the numbers peaked.
I thought I would tell you about it. . .but then I just inforgraphiced (that’s my new verb) it for you.

Finally, someone taking a look at the root of many problems…behavior. Mental illness has many faces and people need help. The isolation of mental illness has to be terrible for the mentally challenged and their loved ones. More help is needed and not always the mind altering drugs with their unpredictable side effects unless the person has 24 hour supervision. I hope more attention is given to the need for more mental health facilities and qualified professionals.
When people decide that it is only about their personal desires regardless of how it affects others, we can expect acts such as what we are experiencing to become more frequent. All of us are responsible for our behaviors and to begin to see ourselves as part of the whole. What we do or don’t do affects the whole.
