Every so often I get to jonesing for a good infographic.
Like most people long for a drink or caffeine, I want a large visual that tells me just about everything I need to know on a topic in a colorful picture with a few short phrases.
Then I can go back to my never-ending series on Lyndon Johnson, which certainly is heavy on the verbiage.
I’ve seen one infographic on bipolar, and thought it was well-done enough to post–but there was more information to share than just one could do.
And there were certain facts I wanted people to know, whether because they were important, like that three times as many days are spent in a depressive than in a hypomanic or manic state for the bipolar person, or intriguing, like India having the lowest rate of bipolar by far among countries, or that. . . well, you can see for yourself.
So we got to work and made a home-grown infographic, because sometimes, really, you just have to do it yourself.

Both the infographics looked great on your site, Kimmy. Again, we just request a link-back when using our materials. Would be great if you could add that. All the best, Candida

Thank you for the high praise. Of course you can use the infographic on your blog–the point is to get it around! [And your blog looks most impressive.] In fact, if you link back to here, you can use whatever you want, without asking. All the best, Candida

Rhonda, This is wonderful! I would also like to share this with my friends on Facebook. I hope this gets you exposure because this was very, very innovative. Getting the word out about this disorder is one thing but doing it in the way you have done is EVEN BETTER.

First of all I would like to say awesome blog!
I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself
and clear your thoughts prior to writing. I’ve had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Thank you!

Well, a hearty thank you for your compliment on the blog. I feel like anyone who compliments my blog is a friend for life.
And it makes me wish I could help you more with your writing issue–but I’m a fairly impulsive person in general–which I don’t recommend–but it’s kind of how the writing works, too. I spend hours over the course of days doing research on the topics–much, much, much time, with no writing.
And then, suddenly, I have an idea, and a way to start–and away we go.
I realize that’s not that illuminating, but I think I would just say you need to wait until you’ve got that urge to go–and if you sit down THEN, once you know what you want to say, your time wasted should decrease significantly.
Hope that helps.
